Setting Up Website Monitoring
Check Live monitors a website you add to your account and tells you when it is reachable and how it is performing, so you find out about a problem before your visitors do.
What you need before you start
- The full address of the website you want to monitor, including https://.
- An active Check Live account and monitoring plan.
- An email address where you want to receive monitoring notifications.
Add a website to monitoring
- Sign in to your account on check-live-site.com.
- Add the website address you want Check Live to watch.
- Confirm the notification email address on the account.
- Save the website so monitoring can begin.
Once the website is saved, Check Live begins checking it automatically. The first results can take a short time to appear while the initial checks run.
Use the exact address you want monitored
Monitor the address your visitors actually use. If your site is reachable at more than one address — for example with and without www — add the version you want Check Live to report on so the results match what your visitors see.
My website is not being monitored
If checks are not appearing for a site you added:
- Confirm the address was entered correctly, with no typos or missing characters.
- Open the address in a browser to confirm the site loads publicly.
- Confirm your monitoring plan is active and not cancelled.
If it still is not working, submit a request and select Website Monitoring Setup. Include the exact website address so we can check the configuration on your account.
